South West VIC farmers can claim a 50% rebate (up to $5,000) on Farmbot eligible solutions through the On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Grants to improve water efficiency, and reduce manual checks.

Who can apply?
To be eligible, you must:
- Own, share, or lease a primary production business in an eligible Victorian local government area: Ararat, City of Greater Geelong, Colac Otway, Corangamite, Glenelg, Golden Plains, Moyne, Pyrenees, Southern Grampians, Surf Coast, Warrnambool, West Wimmera (southern half–postcodes 3312, 3317, 3318 and 3319)
- Be registered as a primary producer with an ABN and GST registration.
- Derive at least 51% of your gross income from farming or have invested $50,000+ in your farm (excluding land purchase).
- Match the grant amount approved at least dollar-for-dollar matching co-contribution.
What solutions are eligible?
Eligible solutions include:
- Farmbot Monitor: Provides remote monitoring of water tanks, dams, bores, and more with real-time insights.
- Farmbot lite: A compact, affordable monitoring solution for smaller operations to monitor individual water tanks.
- Rain Gauge: Tracks and records rainfall data to assist in planning and resource management.
- Pump Control: Remotely operate and monitor pumps to save time and reduce labor.
- Trough Monitoring: Keep livestock water supplies at optimal levels with real-time trough monitoring.
- Water Flow Sensor: Accurately measure water flow to identify leaks or inefficiencies in your system.
How much funding can I receive?
✔ Minimum grant: $1,000 (ex-GST)
✔ Maximum grant: $5,000 (ex-GST)
✔ Farm businesses must match the grant dollar-for-dollar.
How do I apply?
Step 1: Submit your application
- Check eligibility and review the guidelines.
- Get a quote for your proposed infrastructure investment.
- Complete the application form and submit it to Rural Finance.
Step 2: Approval & grant process
- You’ll receive ‘in-principle’ approval or rejection.
- If approved, you have 3 months to purchase your infrastructure.
- Agriculture Victoria may contact you for best-practice guidance.
Step 3: Complete your project
- Pay for the infrastructure upfront and keep all invoices/receipts.
Step 4: Get reimbursed
- Submit your paid invoices to Rural Finance for grant payment (up to $5,000 ex-GST).
- Payment will be transferred to your nominated account.
